Year One Done

 4 More Years!



I first blogged about Fucked Up Burger Shack a year ago. There have been ups and downs, but I'm still at it. Looking back, this first year primarily went to adding systems.

A system to generate non playable characters and systems to describe them, save and load them, and give them artificial intelligence. There is the system to travel around, which ties into the banking system, home/sleep system, and Burger Bus work system; All of which include a system for creating random events whenever an action is taken. Weather and time have systems, and so do statistics and ranks. I messed around with a combat system that failed, but was salvaged as a booty call system (which still sucks, unfortunately). All of these systems and more sit on top of my own text system, which needed features like saving and loading, optimizations for compilation and save compatibility, user interface issues, and on and on. Yay, building up systems...

Trouble is, sex took a back seat. Time after time when I felt that everything was working, and started writing things, I found that a system was broken or inadequate for what I was trying to do. The number of random events isn't nearly what I initially wanted, nor are the amount of options during them. I struggled to estimate when I could complete scenes because there was always a variable amount of work needed to make something happen. The two biggest of these issues were first realizing that RandoEngine (the NPC generator) needed to structurally be separate from the the system that describes NPCs, and then finding that the roommate system was actually a nightmare. Everything was fine with Randos up until I realized that I might want to have more than one exist at a time. Not to mention saving them for later. And roommates? I approached the idea from the perspective that each NPC action needed to be a full cyoa event. This just is not possible given the amount of actions and possible states of things. I resurfaced and cut the cancer, but it was a depressing mess for several months that I can't get back :(

All of that said, what's next?

First an overview of the major systems with rough descriptions of completion.

Functional systems

  • Banking - can work with money; spending using different accounts could use some work
  • Home - can enter, leave and buy things; rent isn't collected, nor are neighbors ever met
  • NPC artificial intelligence - a motives based (SIMS style) AI system exists, but isn't used yet
  • NPC descriptions - there are descriptions of up to 6 partners; need more variety and editing
  • NPC generator - spits out fuckable people; could use more details, perhaps real units of measurement
  • NPC saving/loading - NPCs can be saved and restored; limited to only 5 contacts and no other characters
  • Statistics - many actions are recorded, including rankings; not all actions are recorded properly
  • Traveling - can get around to locations and do things; I'd love a visual map and modes of transportation
  • Work (solo) - you can push beef and cum to the masses; I'd like to have multiple locations with different types of customers

Non-functional systems

  • Dating NPCs - booty calls form a basis for dates, but much is missing
  • NPC modification - there need to be ways to transform NPCs bodies, grow their skills, form relationships, and more.
  • Player customization - cock size, fitness, cum levels, diseases are a few things that should be up for modification, but not possible
  • Scouting NPCs - going places & meeting people for the purposes of fucking and more is undone
  • Sexual combat - a system to fight and fuck is undone
  • Work (brand management) - adjusting public opinion of the business is undone
  • Work (catering) - bringing sauce to unsuspecting customers is undone
  • Work (delivery driving) - delivering sauce to unsuspecting customers is undone
  • Work (many employees) - managing a crew of employees is undone
  • Work (one employee) - working with a single partner is undone

I'm certain that all of the 'functional' systems could use work. And I think it would be better to spruce them up as needed instead of starting new systems. At the same time, I'm hungry to move on to the Burger Shack. It's literally the core of everything, but it requires working with many employees... a new system. I've started work on it with a goal of having the Shack running well by the end of August. After that I'm going to pause development on new systems until the next milestone. I need to take time to catch up on incomplete Burger Bus events that lead up to getting the Shack. Plus there are a lot of events related to working with employees and customers in the Shack. And there is a whole to be done with relationships, specifically knocking contacts up and getting them addicted to sauce. I honestly don't want to code anything or restructure anything for the coming year. I'm actually going to impose a limit on myself so that I can focus heavily on things that are pink, and white and creamy, and jiggly things, and thick things, and sporty things, and fluids, and desire, and losing control, and addiction, and impregnation, and depravity, and voyeurism, and exhibitionism, and bimbos, and delicious traps, and soapy massages, and punishments, and cumgasms, and twins, and triplets, and slutty outfits, and bulges, and binge eating, and family corruption, and hand holding, and spit swapping, and breast fondling, and sword fighting, and ass smacking,...

So that's where my mind is at right now. 4 more years!
